Just thought I'd share that I got my first TomTom gps yesterday and tried it out today while out running errands.  I was surprised at how accurate it is.  The lady talking gets pretty annoying at times but the volume takes care of her just fine!
It the TomTom 340 XL,  It doesn't have removable SD memory, instead it has something like 2GB internal.  Still learning the thing, but I like what I've seen so far.

Its a good thing you ended up getting an accurate one.

I just love the rental car GPS's I get.."Right turn 1/8 of a mile".. then .."Right turn 800 feet" I drive only 200 feet after the announcement and it starts recalculating because I have already missed the turn. F$*K :smt013

For the short run I made into Santa Cruz it showed every left & right curve on HYW 9 and Graham hill rd as we made them!  It's distance to turn seemed accurate to within yards.  Got some playing to do with it still!

Liz has one, I affectionately refer to it as the dumbdumb.  Its not too bad to use if you already know where you're going   :smt003  but it's gotten us to the right place in a very odd way quite a few times before.

I think the one Liz has may be an older model, hopefully the new ones are better at what they do.

In either case, congrats on the new toy.

Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.
