Agreed, the place lends itself to chillin more than fishing...  and I'm no fan of the inspection, parking, and fishing fees...

I was just trying to encourage folks to go ahead and plan something instead of waiting for others to do it.

personally, i think dv sucks for fishing  :smt012 the only really good things going for it is no water skiing and its central location for bay area and valley people.

Ah come on Ben, have you given it a fair shot?  Please elaborate, why does it suck for fishing?

I personally really like the lake but that is not secret.  Obviously it has the 2 points that you mentioned going for it but it also has diversity in species.  One could fill their entire freshwater card and half of their AOTY card should they choose.  There are some large - granted they are elusive - striped bass.  And the occasional monster ... er ... mutant trout.  Of the 2 dozen or so times I've fished it, I've only had 2 really good days but I've never been skunked.

Definite down side - expensive! :smt011

WT heck happened to his yak? and van for that matter? Am I just missing something?
I wouldn't go so far as to call a lingcod filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a lingcod's got personality. Personality goes a long way.
