Get a Pentax Optio. Or that new Panasonic. (I have an Olympus Stylus 1050 and hate it)

I have the Optio W10. I got it several yeas ago I am sure they have newer. But its been great. We've gone through three other cameras and this one get the harshest treatment and has out lived the others.

Check out the link for a very good review.  If it seems overkill or too technical after a few pages, just jump to the conclusion part.  Good luck.

I've had the opposite experience. I just had a Pentax W30 that just up and died for absolutely no reason. When I sent it in for repair they wanted to charge me more to fix it than it cost brand new, and they couldn't give me any explanation why it failed. I never dropped it. It never got wet on the inside. It just stopped working one day when I turned it on at home. Now I have an Olympus Stylus Tough 6000. So far, so good with this one.

I know in a lot of the tests it shows that Pentax has the best photo quality, but my experience has been that I can't tell the difference without blowing the pictures up to a level that's beyond anything I would ever do to a regular picture. Also, I don't know what the customer service is with other brands, but after my Pentax experience I doubt I'll ever buy another.

I've been using my Olympus Stylus 1030SW for a couple of years now and love it.  No problem whatsoever so far (knock on wood)  :smt003

After puzzling over which camera I should buy I narrowed it down to either the Tough 8000 or the Canon Powershot D-10. The mega-pixels are high on both and I probably wouldn't need them but I thought the quality of the enlargements would be better with 12.

I saw pics from both cameras and thought they were great. What steered me to the Canon was in the Tough 8000 manual there is a recommendation that it should be sent back to the factory periodically to have new seals. That's a $140 fix I didn't want to have to go through on a consistent basis.

My first Canon was a  AE-1 and my favorite digital was a Canon G-7 that I bought a waterproof case for. That served me well but the case made it bulky. I bought the D-10 and can't say enough about the picture quality and ease of use. The floating strap I have for it gives me some peace of mind. If it goes overboard and gets caught in a current, at least I'll be able to see it floating away instead of watching it head to the bottom.
The fishing was so good I thought I was there yesterday!

I have the Stylus 850SW by Olympus and I have been very happy with it. I bought
it at Costco. I have taken lots of pictures with it even under water and it has
been great.

I recently got a canon D-10 and have the floating strap too.  It takes great pictures and is really easy to use.  Even with the floating strap, I keep it tethered to the yak on a long nylon strap.  The optics on Canon cameras can't be beat.

I have the Panasonic TS-1. It takes very nice video (HD even) and photos. It is easy to use as well.

I got one of those new fuji z33wp. Great price(about $150), not so stoked on its pics, but that may be operator error. I should ACTUALLY read the manual.
