Just as a warning, the fog is no joke...  Sounds like you went the other direction, but particularly down south there are sneakers out further than you might think, and in the fog they can really sneak up on you.

Nice going on the Cabbies and I would suggest 2 compases.
A couple of years ago a newbie met the Bean Hollow fog, without a compass, gps or radio and coulnt find the beach, ended up landing a mile or two south safely, but he must have had a horseshoe up his ass cause that shoreline is most unforgiving, he could have easily been smashed on the rocks. Its more fun than a barrelful of monkeys but beware of the bean.

Yeah, be careful out there... the fishing can be off the hook, but that spots got all sorts of weird juju to it... big swells, sneakers, fog... carry flares, compass/GPS, and only go out as far as you think you could swim back in if you were to hit a sneaker, fall of your boat, and not be able to get back on.. its happened before.
Livin tha pirates life full time! Catchin big cbass in tha kelp all summer long Have fun, live well, conserve the resource, and ask me about my secret fishing spots. but I probably won't tell you, cuz their secret!
