FYI - jaws is 1000 ft south of Lemon Hill Rd, on Hwy 1.  Has a small set of stairs that lead to the beach, and no poison oak.

Also FYI - am bouncing some ideas around with a few people.  The Lighthouse beach I mentioned is 2.5 miles south of Bean.  I am floating the idea of launching at Bean, paddling south for a miles, and drifting, repeat, and heading home.  Would mean a 2.5 mile uphill paddle to get home, but would save a tough beach launch and introduce some new territory.  If it's flat, we might dump that and head south.

Sorry for bouncing around - we'll get this nailed down and fish tomorrow.

Hi guys,
I was there all morning hoping for someone to show up and give me the courage to go out.
The wind was up and yet...the launch conditions were just fine!
I would have gone out alone but the stiff wind...ie the certainty of a fast drift turned me off.

Saturday am may well be perfect. The beach waves were small so a calming wind will make all the spots look good.
I spent two hours surveying every launch from Pescadero to the lighthouse. Some looked very inviting but for todays wind.

At the lighthouse, sea lions were everywhere. Spy-hopping, feeding, schooling....just everywhere. Dead ones were at several places. This is just part of the normal scenary now.
Does anyone ever launch down the long stairway next to the lighthouses South side?
 Lake calm conditions there!'
First time I've ever seen it. It looked like Stillwater South is was so calm. W/ another guy to help carry...it wouldn't be hard.
That lingcod with someone else name on it.....is still there!
I bailed and headed for the Outback in Larkspur to test a Malibu X-Factor and was hooked. I need one!

Hey,
Everyone launch at the Bean....but leave a car first at the Lighthouse .
Then, at the end, we could shuttle everyone back for their cars back at the bean.

Bird and I showed up at 6am sharp this morning and the wind was already howling out of the north, we checked it out for about a half hour and then bagged it due the sickness on the water, the stiff wind which was growing, and the potential drift factor. Small craft advisory in effect for entire central/northern coast through tonight-I think. By noon or earlier it was victory at sea. Bajareefer was spot-on the launch was doable. We ended up opting for the Santa Cruz harbor and pulled up to find glassy and sunny conditions, so we paddled out to the mile buoy. A handful of smallies and one good take down was it for the day. Reports of halibut taken out of capitola and natural bridges, and a whopper 40# Hali taken yesterday straight out from the SC harbor mouth. Good luck tomorrow, I may try again on Sunday.  M-

Let's meet at Bean at 7:00 and make the call - we either launch, or head north to jaws or south to the lighthouse beach launch.  See you there...

I'm in a grey SUV with a yellow t-15 - mcag = mike cag = see you tomorrow.

6:00 am?
So I missed you and duplicated your behavior.
Great minds think alike I guess.

With eagerness to go again tomorrow...i am humbled with sudden child care duties.
I'd post him up on the bow [ hes just 4 ] and do the Bean but my wife would blow torch my kayak if I did.
