I've been watching the water.  It's been blowing hard in the late afternoon.   About 6 PM, the wind eases off and the shearwaters have been driving the bait into New Brighton beach.   It appears that the Stripers work the bait from below and the shearwaters from above.    When they hit the beach, the bait is flying out of the water, silver streaks of large fish criss cross the water, a trillion birds are diving.

Work the edges with a small spoon and the catching is pretty frantic.   The trick is keeping the birds off you lure.

wll, be at Prosser and Stampede, nothing too fancy, just outside of the truckee/tahoe area.... its a great spot for riding dirt bikes, shooting and enjoying some fishing. Its no small high sierra lake, but it will be a good time, fun area to camp.

Look forward to tryin my yak on fresh water, should be a treat!
