Man!!! What a bummer the owner end up to be a complete jerk a$$hole, I talked to him around 1 oclock and told him I am taking it, So I geared up fill the tank and pick-up my wife, on my way I called the guy for his address and gave it to me I told I'll be there in an hour or less, I was excited and ready to roll brought some extra rope just in case, driving from san francisco to sacto are no jokes, anyway, I found his place around 4:00 and called that I was in front of his house, well guess what he stepped out just to tell me he SOLD it to someone else just 15 minutes before I got there, I said do you have any idea where I came from? I drove all the way here from San Francisco!!! besides I told you I'll take it, He says "What do you want me to do the guys showed with cash" I didn't start to say anything cause I have a bad habit if start talking I control myself I just walked away and say aint worth it, and  hoping that he would get the worse Karma possible,

That sucks, BUT...  Cash is the rule of CL...

I've done a fair bit of selling things on there and I can't tell you how many times I've had guys get my address and say they have cash and are on the way to pick it up...  never to be heard from again.  CL is notorious for that type of thing.

Because of that I'll never hold anything for anyone unless I know them or have good reason to suspect they aren't going to flake out.

That's bad Karma!  I had someone offered me more than my asking price and willing to pay cash for my car but he was the second person who called. I told him I already promised the first caller who's on her way to my house to see the car.  If she won't take it then he can have it.  I ended up sold the car to the first caller for the asking price.

I called the guy several times, I left a message twice, he called me back for the address I said I can't talk I am driving on my way to your area, I hand it to my wife to get the address I told my wife tell him we will be there in less than an hour, technically I am already committed I never had this experience in craigslist I bought tons of stuff in there and never ever had this, sometimes it happens but they call me and say I hope your not on your way yet since someone came by and bought it! thats fine but this jerk didn't even bother calling I would have save 30 min going back!!!

Good point, Eric. I believe Stormscrambler experienced that recently when he sold his T13 to Rock Hopper.

Not saying it's RIGHT...  just saying that's the way it is out there.

I've held stuff for people and it worked out.  But I've been jerked around too.

Last guy I had a deal with on a purchase, he called me back and said "another guy offered X amount..." like it was an auction all of a sudden.

the deal isn't done until cash has changed hands...  UNLESS you are dealing with honorable men like NCKA'ers.

Points taken and sure hoping I'll get one this weekend, I might have to drive either on fresno (yak hopper has some nice deals) or Sacto (Adventure sports are willing to negotiate with what they have on ads) !! Fathers day a good excuse to ask wifey to get one LOL :smt044

If you go to Sacto, Adventure sports should let you demo kayaks at Lake Natoma (Negro Bar state park).

Man that sucks! I hate dealing w/CL people.

And that's why I plan to list my T140 on here instead of CL when I sell it. I'll be selling the Paddy Wagon in the next couple weeks (probably like $650). Just need to decide if I want the 2009 Tarpon or a Malibu X-Factor. Decisions decisions....

Yak Hopper is good people :)  CL is unforgiving, like you mentioned, but such is life - Karma :)

Hope you finally get your hands on a yak! :)
