I met up with Mike P. and his son Matt from Davis at Stillwater. Arrived to find epic conditions; flat, sunny, and beautiful. Mike and Matt were on the water ahead of me and were into a good bite with a variety of rockfish in the bag within their first hour. My day started out slow and then with a flip of the switch the fish gods smiled down upon me as I basked in the hot sun fishing the pot-holes in the kelp. I was reeling up in about 25' of water when my pole went bendo, thinking I was snagged on the kelp I decided to give a tug before going through the routine I know all to well. All of sudden I start feeling the shaking that is distinctive to mr. Lingalator and Bam the fight is on and he starts taking line. I had a decent pole with by Abu Amb. 5500 and I start taking line back. He did not like that very much and tried to wrap me into the kelp, I wasn't having any of that and cranked the drag and readied the net. He was a chubby 26"+ and needless to say I was very satisfied. Finished the day with two solid blues, great conditions, and a fat ling-Priceless ;)

Very nice!! Wish I was there enjoying those conditions. I wanted to go on my day off this Friday, but looks like the weather is going to be bad.

Thanks for the report and pics,
