Does anyone have any pictures of some Tarpon 140s rigged?  I'm looking for some ideas! I get to pick up the new red baby tomorrow!   :smt007

I'm a little late, but PM Marmite--he pimped out his Tarpon and might have some great pointers as he's a pretty creative rigger. I'm an OK Prowler guy myself (P-15 and now also a T-15)

The tarpon has some great integrated features, like the paddle/rod keepers on each side of the cockpit and the flat deck. I'll probably add flush mounted rod holders in the future, but I've fished it for 5 years without them.

No pics but here's what I've done (keep in mind I'm pretty old-school & like to keep things very simple in case I get munched in surf)

-bow line with a bungie tensioner (I use this for a bow tie down, but with the bungie it works great as a kelp tether too)
-grab line around the boat perimeter
- bungie cord removed from deck & tankwell
-plano box with 4 tubes in the tankwell
-custom FF shelf (made with an old cutting board & welded up with a hot knife)-this is my latest addition and has worked well to hold my portable FF and a couple pairs of pliers.

of course, plenty of custom artwork too. I'll take some pics tonight & post 'em.

Here's some pics of my old T140. But these are kinda old and need updating.

Started w/a side-deck mount Scotty but replaced it w/a flush-mount Scotty.
I originally secured the tupperware-style front hatch w/surgical tubing to avoid snagged hooks. But it's been replaced w/regular bungee. The way I secured the hatch (as seen in pics), I can crack it open while the farthest part of the hatch stays locked-in...because it's difficult to re-seal that part of the hatch OTW.
I've also replaced that big milkcrate w/a smaller one (that is, when I use a crate...been going sans-crate lately).
Oh, another cool and easy idea is to use a Sunny D bottle for the middle hatch--fits perfect!

NewChickKayaker, how far did you get with the T140? I just picked one up a few weeks ago and trying to get some idea for it. :D
