Adam & O2B,

I hear that Trinity mud is some tough stuff that swallows up vehicles out of no where.

Here's an NCKA member's truck (last year) on a mission for a biggee smallie.  AOTY=Madness!!!!

Stuart

I am sure glad I didn't post that!!!!  :smt044  :smt044

owwww, it was nowhere near that good!....i would have gotten my outfit soiled while paddle-shoveling, had that been the case. :smt003

how did that quicksand overtake your truck when it was parked like that Stew?
that's some strange VehileSeekingSand they have up there. :smt013

That story sounds all too familiar... Good thing that there were multiple vehicles. That would've really sucked if... Let's say Allen was alone... with no other soul in sight.
Freddie

Adam,
It wasn't my truck.  The "savage" owner of that vehicle was on a suicide solo AOTY mission.
It all turned out good.  After several hrs, a truck finally drove by and pulled him out.

Otherwise, it would have been a long walk to Weaverville.

Tote,
What are friends for  :smt003

Friday was a great start to the adventure.  It was nice meeting you Tad, and thanks again for the assistance.  The lake is waaaaaay looooooow, some of the structure exposed is unreal.  The bite was slow but we all managed fish, some fatties too.

There are some monster smallies up there that's for sure. And as low as the lake is, they look real healthy. Nice country up that way if you aren't too busy digging out to enjoy it. Thanks Stu... I can't believe you saved that text.

"Adventure" doesn't even begin to describe our road trip! Everything went perfectly to plan including our timely departure and  meeting up with Tad until our little hiccup at the "beach". I really have to give props to our group for the total respect given by not taking pictures of my little error in judgment. Tad was a trooper and came to our rescue..thanks again.
As with any road trip we always promise ourselves to make camp prior to starting fishing but that promise was broken seconds after the ignition was turned off. Moments later we were on the water heading out in all directions as if we each had a secret honey hole we fished regularly...too funny. Later Tad bid his farewells. We fished right up to the calculated last minute allowing just enough daylight to get back and set up camp. Adam made his signature salsa and guacamole to quell our immediate hunger as we prepared camp and set in for night. Day one at "Camp None" wound down around a warming campfire with a view of a zillion brilliant stars in the heavens....
