Ok its time I got it on its way ordered one.

Trying to figure out how to rig the baby...

Gonna order a good ff probly a 587ci or is it worth the extra hundred for the 597ci?

Second have any of you put in the flush mounts on the t13 my buddy Rhyno has them in the front but thats on a t15.

Any tips guys on what I should do first im stoked that im getting to upgrade after almost 3 years on a small kayak that has no storage and very little stability.

rhyak i have not seen anyone with two flushmounts up front.  I am sure they are easily installed up there based upon the amount of flat space on the T13.

I do not know why someone would want flush mounts up front - it is a very long reach even on a T13.  doesn't seem like a major improvement over two ram ball mounts right in front of the sonar shield.

I have posted my T13 setup under kayak rigging tips RHYAK.  Actually it was for my Hobie Revolution but I also
included my T13 as well. I was working on both boats at the same time. I have more pictures too if you want to
see it.

I agree with Ben. I am 6'4" and a reach to my FF is hard. Flush mounts that far fwd would be hard and and a hassle to get to. I troll from the ones in the back. I mounted a ram ball in the space between the rod pod and sonar shield. That way I can use the vertical tube rod holder and don't have to deal with extensions and the rod but hitting the top deck. I can send pics as well. Not sure how many rods you go out with but I have the two flush mounts and three on the plano box which is more then enough.

usually 2 rods some times 3. I was just thinking for trolling and drifting as well as easy spot to set rod when moving might go with the ram tube instead. Thanks any more pics would be great Ive looked threw most of the post a few times and love the set ups.

Any input on a hummingbird 587ci or is it worth the extra hundred for the 597ci?

Is this the right mount. Scotty Compact Threaded Deck Mount 444

I plan on using ram tubes can i use just the basic mount or is it batter to have the scotty with the ram connection.

Thanks in advance...

rhyak, only put in the scotty's if you have a need for a scotty mount in the future.  i wish i could go back and just use the ram mounts only.  i find them much more versatile, although more expensive, they are worth it.

What about starting with one of these and then adding the attachment to have both.

and attaching the tube style holder to that.

Would this be solid enough for trolling big raps for thresher and draggin 8oz of lead for butt.

Also talked to the guy that has this and he loves it for trolling for thresher and halibut.

Thanks guys all ur input helps

Any tips on how to run the wires threw for the ff wear do you start drilling holes on these guys gonna try and keep it minimal to hole drilling. I have the 587ci do u rub the wires threw the back of the unit which would make it permanent as far as wiring. Or do u slide it threw the back. All help is appreciated.
Thanks
Ryan

i think sbd uses a wire seal to run his wires through.  i personally did it a much cheaper way and have had no problems with corrosion so far.

mine is the 565, not the 587ci but i think that they are similar in the back.

heres how i rigged mine
http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/index.php/topic,18559.0.html  fairly detailed.
