Monterey (San Carlos Beach Sat 28th)

Gonna go for an easy paddle on Sat. Im gonna take the better half.Shes not quite comfortable in big blue yet so im gonna take her for A paddle thru the kelp line. I will have fishing gear and will try for some perch. Mostly just A chill. I also want to bring some dive stuff to mess around in the water. Company welcome.  ...Andy

Screw thhe perch! Jig for squid then flyline the live squid along the outter kelpline for White Seabass.

Andy your mission for Saturday if chose to accept it is WSB recon!

Good luck man. The marine forecast looks pretty sketchy, especially considering it is blowing 30kts right now. The idea of freshly-jigged squid and potential seabass IS appealing though.

I'll be building a fence this wknd. Yay!

ARgh... I promised myself that I would work on my house this weekend.  But DAMN its tempting to take my new ride on the big blue!!!  Need a kayak cart though...

I will call you friday to get the lowdown. Are you launching the same place at MBK? Not sure if that is the beach you mentioned as I am not familiar with all the monterey beaches or launches. I have only gone out of stillwater and MBK in the past.

Phillip is wanting to go bad also.
I will send him a PM and we can get it going, Alshobieoutback... if that is still your handle with the new ride... the house isn't going to fall down this week, let's go get some..

I checked the wharf tonight and there were some sardines and stray macks being caught. Definitely bring a sabiki and some halibut rigs. The weather was great otherwise.

But be prepared for potentially high seas--the swell forecast went up. And this is for INside Mbay.

Saturday: Variable winds less than 5 kt becoming W 5 to 10 kt in the morning. Sunny. WNW swell 8 feet at 10 seconds. Wind waves around 1 ft.
Saturday Night: WNW wind 7 to 10 kt. Patchy fog after 11pm. WNW swell 10 feet at 10 seconds. Wind waves around 2 ft.
