Well at the last minute Patrick and his brother (Jack) came thru and off we went to pump sum shrump. We arrived  at the spot to find a little wind. The wind during the outgo had mostly covered up all the telltale signs of where the little buggers were hiding but we managed to find their hiding spots by pumping in a likely area and if you were close all the little tunnels would expose themselves. It took only about forty-five minutes to get limits.
Back at the truck we talked with a couple of clammers/campers and chatted it up a bit. During the talk we noticed that they had a portable hot tub on a trailer....way cool!
The wind disappeared so we spent a few minutes casting into the surf for fun as we watched the setting sun...way cool again. Got home and put the aerators on the shrimp to keep them feisty for tomorrow....bring bandaids as these shrimp are mean!

Thanks for the report Allen!  That hot tub trailer might be cool for cold weather camping...looks like you could strap a few kayaks down on top as well. Might also make one hell of a live bait tank  :smt044

Was that solar panel part of the hot tub rig, or probably using to charge something else?

Shrump pumping is fun.  I like to bring my 4-year old... he likes to chase the seagulls and keep them away from the bucket... sometimes if he's feeling especially helpful, he'll be my shrump picker upper.

Good times.

Hot tub trailer is hot! (no pun intended)

My question is, do you pull it with water in it or without? Average hot tub has got to hold 300-400 gallons of water at the minimum. That is well over a ton in water weight. Not to mention the sloshing around.
