I saw it on Fishsniffer, and it seems obvious from http://www.ebparks.org/node/852, but I don't think you can fish live minnows in Del Valle anymore due to mussel concerns in the bait bucket water. Anyone know to the contrary?

I went on a kiddie paddle at Contra Loma this weekend, they do honor the inspection papers from Del Valle. The water level is way down (supplying drinking water I'm told), didn't see any fish activity.

Yeah, I don't think they will allow people to bring a full bucket of water onto the lake....considering they'll deny people that have 1/8 of an inch of moisture in the kayak hull or hatch. So, the only way to use minnows at DV is to trap some minnows in the lake....or neglect to inform the inspectors that you have a bucket of minnows.

I don't know about the ebrp lakes. But Santa Clara county won't let you use live minnows in their lakes.

It sounds right and corresponds with everything I've ever heard however I've never found it in writing and I've scoured their website.

Where did you read it on the fishsniffer?

Michael

I got my info first hand from the inspectors in the Sta Clara County lakes. However I am not sure if they would allow it if it was bought from Coyote baits and tackle shop. I heard from the grapevine that they would allow it from that shop. I would call and confirm anyway before bringing minnows to any park.
