well mounted my fish finder in finally right :smt003 i used some more 3mm foam for a gasket on the finder and glued down a foam block under the seat as far back as i could reach, this is so i can use the temp and one less hole in the yak. will post picks soon

they are for the scotty flush mounts i gooped some 3mm foam as a gasket and couldnt get the plugs to stay so i came up with this. this way i dont loose the and they keep extra water out when not in use.

I found the perfect solution for the flush-mount Scotty bases that are open-ended.
Use a rubber tip that's designed for chair legs! If you get the right size, they stick on there perfectly--I can't recall the exact size that works best, but I'll check tonight when I get home. Ace hardware has them for cheap. See attached pic.

Oops! I misunderstood the original question.

NOTE--the chair leg tips are for Scotty flush-mount bases that are open on the bottom....not all of the Scotty bases are sealed/closed. So it essentially becomes a 1" hole in the hull, unless plugged w/a chair tip, duct tape, pvc end-cap, etc.

yea they had the screw on bottom so i filled it with goop and screwed it on sealed, and a side note i am changing to the scupper transducer cause i was getting some real werid readings this weekend or i did it wrong oh well. and i caught my first fish of 2009 this week end 13" brown fly fishing woohoo
