Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

FisHunter "I had ONE good fish on, then ONE good fish OFF!"

I was razzing Adam about "keep the tip up....keep the tip up!   He told me to "knock it off" and just then the fish let go..........I quietly paddled off in another direction :smt011            sorry Adam.

Don't cha just hate paddlin' around in all that oil slick  :smt005 Even tho the fishing was a little slow, how can you complain with conditions like that?  Like I said Friday night around the camp fire. That was better than fishing. Hangin with your buds, enjoying the fire and listening to some good ol' acoustic. Munchin on awsome ceviche'  Damn, that's livin'... A great time indeed!! Very memoriable weekend.

Had a great time hanging around the fire with the crew and enjoying some serious treats.  The ceviche that bloodbath and his boys whipped up is the best I have had.  Ben and Eric provided the perfect soundtrack.

Fishing was on sunday was a real treat, we have been blessed with calm seas this year but this was unreal.  The bite was slow most of the morning, with a couple of keeper lings released and two nice reds clipped.  Later in the day I returned to a spot I have fished alot lately without great success but I am drawn to like a moth to flame.  This time the bite was on... 4 keeper lings on 4 drops,  and then two 20" cabbies. Insane.  All but one fatty ling and the two reds were released.

..... oh and on the way up the hill I slipped a sixty pound rock into Dad's kayak.   :smt003

...That was something i wouldn't have even done to my worst ENEMEY! :smt009 as Allen stopped on the way up the beach, he left his yak unattended, while doing something(i don't remember) Patrick slipp'd it in his seat and covered it with his PFD. Allen turned around and saw him returning from his yak and said,"Hey! wahat are you doing?!..we both said ? and he bought it. as soon as he hit the first little hump and it came to a complete stop, he looked down at both tires to see what had stopped him, nothing! I started to talk to him as Patrick was too, keeping him distracted. He spoke of the rock he caught, thats when i began too laugh my ass off. Patrick asked if there was a limit on them, while his dad was doing the backwards-duckwaddle, inch-by-inch, complaining he was hauling Patricks fish up,struggling as he was, I just couldn't bring my heart to spoil his workout, I pulled the camera out too late to capture the true moment. :smt012
BUT! I did catch this true moment of horror, turned to laughter! :smt003
If he only woulda listened to my good uncle Allen.

pic1~ Allen throwing up caution too the wind

Between my landing and the rock incident, I almost busted a gut laughing so hard...

Allen and I were side by side and I hear him say "I'm not taking that in.."

I think, "what's he mean, this is cake......  oh crap!"  but the baby wave behind me put water where there was sand and all was well.

Then walking to the loading area I hear Allen behind me:

"Hey, I think I have a flat on my Wheeleez!!!"

Soon followed by much snickering...

Classic!

Hey guys,
Bloodbath here! Another awesome weekend with a good size crew of NCKA members. We all ended up at Reef Campground. Members in attendance were: Cabezo, Madden, guitarzan, fishunter, Eric, Patrick, Allen Jonesz. The dive crew were scattered at different campsites and they were: Abman, redyak, mseanbrowne, batt, and his friend. Exactly, alot of fun to be had!
I would like to thank all the members of the NCKA that made this weekend one of the most memorable camping trips this year. You are all reading the posts and getting the reports from everyone. Here are just a few memorable moments: mseanbrowne getting his first abalone ever w/pearl, guitarzan ripping the chords, madden driving from Carson City to kick it, first time paddling out some crab traps on the float tubes, eric's fish recipe, ceviche for all, free firewood from Abman, and hanging and camping with the boys.
Oops 2 of the same pics
