I have been thru my share as well with no issues, but I bet I could have been failed if they wanted to.  I'm always paranoid about mud...  Or a damp PFD, or sponge...  water in the paddle handle...

I will say I have seen a wide variety in the way the inspection is handled, procedurally and with regards to attention to detail.

I agree, could have been turned away a few times......list the ocean as your last yak trip...they won't taste it and you'll be free to fish.

OCEAN- OCEAN!  i always have listed it, even though the straps were wet, as well as the inside-hatch cover, but they passed she passed me anyway.

On my recent outing to Coyote Lake,I passed inspection without him batting an eye....There was probably two cups of water inside my hull and my dry hatch..... :smt010... I told him I was in Monterey Bay the day before than started talking football.... He was wearing A Steelers hat. :smt002...Small talk before the inspection always works for me...Andy.... (It really was ocean water!!)
