Nice catches there Eric. Much better luck than I have had there. Any hints to what side of the lake the Smallie was caught.

Speaking of striper's, about 25 years ago I was fishing at Shin pond and a guy came walking by with a big fish. I asked him what it was and he said a Stripe bass that he caught in one of the Quarry Ponds which were private property and not developed at that time. I believe of the 3 lakes there Lago Los Osos is the one that fishing is restricted and possible where the strpes are at.

Does any one know if EBRPD is planing to open up that lake in the near future?

Supposedly Shinn was stocked with striped bass at one time but I've never caught anything there.

The lake to the south of Horseshoe lake is open to fishing as well and I want to haul my yak over the jetty to check it out one of these days.

The smallie came from near the bank along a rocky dropoff.

The Smallie is a shocker for me...

I used to fish those ponds religiously as a Kid and I never caught a smallie...
