Stillwater Cove lived up to its name Sunday with very calm conditons and glassy. I have to say the fishing was a bit slow but managed to catch some blues and brown rockfish. No lings today. Im fairly new at kayack fishing but have been out half a dozen times and it gets better and better. At some point Id like to go with the gang that knows Big Sur.

Great report and welcome aboard, Hoppy!   :smt001

FYI:  "PB" often looks like "power boat" and sometimes means "personal best", but now I know you meant "Pebble Beach"!

Looks from the picture like you had pretty flat conditions out past the Tower House.  There are plenty of fish there, getting them to bite can sometimes be a problem. Maybe I'll see you out there some day.

Nice job on the rockies. Looks like you were fishing the right spot.
That boat looks familiar....did I meet you out of MBK a month ago, fishing around the yellow can?
Thanks for the report+pics!

Why is it that Stillwater fishes well for a month after opening then slowly shuts down even though conditions are good. Is it getting hammered and fished out? Is it that all the fish are going to the protected zones? Any ideas out there.

SinCoast good memory yeh that was me at MBK and thank you for the fishing tips that day. As I recall it got pretty bumpy and then windy out there  but still alot of fun. I really enjoyed your report about fishing Big Sur and the great looking fish there. I do not want to take on that area unless Im with someone who knows about the conditions and launch. My first brief go out was at Limkiln with my son. We paddle out about fifty yards and figured we were over our head in inexperience. So we proceed back to shore were we got dumped on the shore break. No harm done fortunately and chalked it up to experience but would like another go at it.
