Morning started at 5:00 with Frank bangin on my door with the wake up call. Sometime later around 5:30 we congregate in the kitchen around crappy bagels and cream cheese.  Adam shows up to join the breakfast club. Joel had to release his cougar which was freashly caught the night before ( over age limit ).

The crew is joined by Art around 7:30 for a launch in to the narliest surf see this year on the west coast. I decide to dive while the rest of the crew was top side fishing. We scattered about the cove in search of fish. Also immediatly Joel flags me down with his fish yell. Says there are dozens of nice fish around his jig.

Excited I jump in and load the speargun. I saw the cutiest little olives and blues. Most the size of my hand. I did not shoot any babies. Saw many little blues and olives everywhere. Took a shot at a cabby that was sitting still and missed. Chased a short ling around for a bit trying to find its hole.

Joel and party all ended there day with heavy stringers of little blues, blacks and olives. Franks daughter nailed the jackpot fish.

But who screamed louder :smt005
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

It was a lot of fun being with this crew at such an exotic place. Victoria and I really enjoyed the company which included Joel, Angel, Liz, Brian and Art. Incredible food as always and Victoria had a great time razing the Mooch with her catch thus the quoate ,"Those are cute fish Mooch", which shut the big guy down with a dropped head and shrugged shoulders :smt044 and mumbling as he walked away from Victoria and her 31" Ling.P1010148

Here is a shot of Victoria being a little apprehensive when we first started out.

P1010142

But that all changed with her first hookup of the day.
P1010146

Things just got better as the day went on...here is a shot with the blackie that had the piggy back ling, Victoria saying it was exciting seeing the food chain in real life :smt003

P1010147

With the end result being her 31" Ling boated after I netted it just below the surface.
P1010158

Humbling of the Mooch and all of us who got whipped, schooled, by a 16yr old girl :smt044 Way to go Victoria! :smt001

P1010154

Which made the whole trip that much memorial :smt003 Proud Papa!

I don't think I've ever seen anyone hug a lingcod before. I'm not sure what to make of it. I think the Fishunter "knife in the mouth" and the Hydrospider "lookaway" have just been bumped down the list of best NCKA fish poses.

Nice report guys.

Way to go Vic... (she needs a screen name FF). That is a nice ling and way to show up the rest of 'em. Good to see another lady in the lineup who's obviously got "the madness" in her eyes. I mean hugging a ling.. AWESOME :smt044

She's holding it like a warm sweater on a spring afternoon.   :smt044.  Frank your daughter is a real catch.  Keep Joel away from her.

Proud couldn't discribe the feeling I had when she brought that up, piggy back no less. Thanks for the comments Victoria read them all and was beaming. She and ,"the Mooch", are buds and she really thinks that Mooch is a nice guy who catches cute "little" fish.

....i arrived to the crash site@6:30am Sat.morning, the crew was up and almost ready to go down to the fish-less grounds.(Victoria got the last one). I fished hard for a few RF in calm conditions. I knew we'd be going elsewhere the next day and kept my spirits high....cuz at the very least, hangin with the characters in "OUR CREW" was gonna be worth the cost of addmittion.....stand by for more laughs!
