thanks for the report. i saw you at stillwater several weeks back as i was freediving and your pontoon boat looked real comfortable and at the same time maneuverable. i bet its a lot more stable than my kayak! any guy willing to dangle his legs below the surface and not know whats below gets respect from me: )

Hi Yaker:

I'm not at Kayak Snob and, the importent thing is that you did it under
your own power.  Fishing tips are like GOLD (thanks)! How does your Boat handle the Wind?

Thanks everyone for the positive remarks. I'll start posting more reports...especially when I get that first keeper halibut of the year. I've landed a few already this year but all short (one was just 1/4 inch short of being legal). One thing I've never seen are fishing reports of people going out at night. I'd say at least half the time when I take the pontoon boat out it's at night. May experience is that the big ones, especially the lings, come out and feed at night. I usually launch the Monterey jetty or Coral st...I have yet to do Stillwater at night...Blake...are you up for that?? Seeing the bio-luminance light up when your fighting a fish close to the surface has to be one of the coolest things I have ever seen. The scariest thing is when a sea lion swims under the pontoons...looks like a BIG green ghost.

Kingfisher...
You'd surprised what I can fit on the back of the pontoon boat. The back deck is huge.
Fishmaster1...
Wish I could make it out to stillwater this weekend...too busy with the honey-do list. Might do a night launch at the Monterey jetty
JohnGuineaPig & Mendohead...
The pontoon boat is extremely comfortable and maneuverable...that's one of the main reasons I bought it. It does really well in rivers...up to class 3. It also light and can be easily carried. It does get blown around a bit...a little more than a kayak (with my limited knowledge of kayaks in the wind)

Thanks again for you warm welcome...see you on the water!

Matt,

Well heck, it looks like you took 2 kayaks and strapped them together with some  lawn chair frames. :smt044

WTTM!!!! Anything that can help us hookup is welcome!! Put a mast and sail on your boat and you'll be able to hit a lot of reefs in a short time...
