Just wanted to get the cobwebs out, as it were. Fished 830 to 1100 between the lighthouse and Mitchell's cove, no runs, no hits, no errors. The wind is coming up in the afternoon, but mornings are nice, and the water looked good, seems to be warming up a bit now.

perhaps this might be a good time to target some white sea bass around Capitola, but rockfish weren't around yet on the local reefs and kelp. Or must I make the trip to Limekiln to see some fish?

Always willing to join others in the Monterey/Santa Cruz/Half Moon Bay area for a bit of fishing...feel free to contact me.

bayside marine is saying that some folks are catching rockfish. seem to be deeper than right along the kelp tho.

seems like you have to either drop dead anchovies into the kelp, or go out deeper.

if you fished just outside the kelp, that seems to be dead still.

Thanks for posting. Sorry no hook ups. Did you see any signs of bait?. I'd like to try some live bait in and around the kelp.

Hi Paul,
Thanks for the report! Guess you are back from your trip across the "pond."
Sorry for the lack of fish, or maybe you knocked em dead and are just continuing the no fish in Santa Cruz line so everyone goes to elsewhere. If so you forgot to add that it was windy and foggy! :smt003 :smt003
