Welcome to the madness! Bon Tempe is a bike ride away for me, and Kent is on fire now, at least it was 2 weeks ago...
Damn, I miss Jerry a lot, cant beleive its been 13 years, so Ive seen the G.D and J.G.B. so many times I cant remember, and Phil and freinds, Ratdog, String Cheese, Gvt Mule, I cant get enouph of jamband music tho Ive only seen a few shows in as many years... I was somewhat good freinds with brother Chet Helms, the coolest dude on the planet, he invented the hippie. Remember him? He was Janis Joplins manager and the Family Dog himself.

If your interested, some of my freinds are putting a "farewell get together" for Martin Fierro's daughter soon, remember him? He was Zero's sax player for many years, I think him and their drummer,Greg Anton(?)played with the Warlocks
before they became the G.D. We're hoping to get Pete Sears (Hot Tuna), George McLowski, original rolling stone photogrpher Robert Alltman and some others to show. The Amsterdam Cafe in Fairfax.
Maybe you can ask Phil, Im sure he knew him too. Anyway Ill post it in general when it happens, it will be a fine farewell...

Wow what a small world. My wife was a dead head when she was going to Sonoma State back in the late 70's. She shot pool with Jerry Garcia in Cotati after an "Old and in the Way" concert.

AM radio, 15.10 KPIG out of Santa Cruz, but sent out of SF, plays lots of that music.
You can get it on the web too, KPIG.com. They played a tune from old and in the way just a few days ago. They play all 3 Hank Williams too, pure Americana. The best station Ive ever heard, NOT clear channel.

Welcome to the Maddness.

Quote
Have been thinking lately about doing trip down the Petaluma from downtown all the way down to Blackpoint and stopping halfway at Papa Taverna's greek restaurant(they have there own dock I might add!) and getting lunch. It is a 13 mile trek but I think it would be awesome and if you time the tides right you wouldn't have to paddle much but just let the tide float you downstream. Any takers? ps...
I'd be up for that on a Sunday or Monday after CSBA, are you thinking of putting cars at both ends?
hey mick thanks for the interest but I work on tues....wed through fri would work though...pm me if you still wanna give it a go and yes I would like to leave cars at both ends....

SteveS you seem like the marin native with the most info on everything...would love to hook up with you sometime too...

Yikes! do i sound like a know-it-all?  LOL.  I'm NOT a marin native- born in SF sunset dist. Lived in marin now only 8 years. But i've fished over here since i was a tot (grandma loved eating fish, grandsons loved catchin' em).

BTW: would love to do that drift.
Another great one-- is MciNnis park to the SR bridge.
Two more that i have on the "want to have done" list:
Sonoma Creek from shellville to bay
SR bridge to the GG bridge

Welcome, and let me say I am J*E*A*L*O*U*S*E of your familial background.

I thought your handle was cool as soon as I saw it.

Sadly, I never saw Dark Star live, in all of the fifty shows I saw.....

Ah well, no need to live in the past.

C'mon up to Chico, and I will show you some GOOD beer....
