I suspect that your Bro JTF got you going to catch a bigger butt.

Nope.  I haven't been online much in the past couple days, and had to go back into the reports just now to figure out what you were talking about.
Its just a pattern I seem to be establishing;  First hali of the year is my biggest and they just get smaller from there.  Won't know for sure till I get my next!

Hey Bungle... ...... CONGRATS!  :worship

That's a big one compare to the first legal butt you scored at the Wall last year.

I knew someone would catch a nice one there soon with the help of nice weather and LIVE bait.... and sure enough... you did it.

I must confess, I tried there Friday for a few hours .  I knew it was going to be a challenge.  It was a bit windy, choppy, and I didn't have live bait.

A good looking halibut and on the only shiner in the bucket. Pretty nice, Nate.

Them shiners be scarce in these here parts. :cowboy_smoke:

Fo reals.  I've been looking for bait for a month now, and have gotten three shiners in that time.  I was starting to think we done caught 'em all.

Although, after catching the hali this past weekend, I did a search for when I caught my first one last year, thinking it was close to a year to the day.  Last years was caught on the 18th of March.  Got that one on a 'chovie pop, and hadn't even started looking for bait in the bay yet.  It wasn't till after I got that fish that I started throwin' the net, and it still took a couple weeks after that for it to really start producing for me.  So I've got my fingers crossed...
