went to otter cove with alain and speared some rf. didnt see a single cabezon but did see ling cod. lots of nice big ling cod waiting for april to roll around. most fish were found under and inside rocks. its great having a nice flashlight to hole hunt.

alain has some photos somewhere of the ling cod.

marked some nice fishy areas and now just waiting for ling season to open up.

lots of people feel otter cove is not very fishy but i think it all depends on the day you go. its been both for myself. on a good day the fish will be out in the open , on a bad day you have to find them in the holes. they are always there though.

vis was a good 25-35 feet and even better outside but the surge was kind of strong. not a bad day at all.

Come on, JGP, start taking snapshots under there!  We can't read of a ling-convention and then be told that we must rely on Alain to supply the pixel-port!   :smt003

Glad you got out and enjoyed a good dive, but start thinking more of the rest of us, wouldya?!   :smt002

i need to get a new camera. i have a 35mm ikelite but last time i opened the case the compression latch broke off the housing so it has been dry since. i want to get a cybershot with a housing. those are small and compact. alain has a larger case for his canon that is nice as well. just need some money: )

the day i get it though, i'll have underwater photos to accompany my reports!

Right on John. Thanks for the report man.
Otter Cove is usually a nice, safe option. Too bad the Lovers Pt SMR encroaches some of the good accessable spots from Otter. It kinda limits the territory that one can access from Otters but I agree that it is still a good spot, and often overlooked.

Attaboy, John!  Thanks for putting up with my "pure pressure" - it's a step up from peer pressure!   :smt003
