Wind and a good swell is forecasted.

1/4 oz heads going to be enough for the conditions?

If you're using line heavier than 8lb test, you should consider ugrading to 3/4 or 1oz. I was using 1oz egg sinkers w/12lb test. But recently spooled up with 10lb Spiderwire Stealth and now I can cast 1/4 oz no problem (it has the diameter of 2lb and casts really far due to the teflon coating).
I see now that you mentoined heads, like leadheads? That could work, with a small leadhead and a small Kalins grub. Still, I would suggest at least 1/2 oz. Leadheads w/grubs (or swimbaits) on them do not cast very well.

I painted a bunch of my egg+bullet sinkers red so they look like burrowing sandcrabs. Not sure if it will work or not though. I might even resort to bait. We'll see.

I live near the harbor and just got back from a walk with the dog. It looks pretty ugly out there right now. Lots of shore breaks and lots of wind on the outside. I would think you will need to go heavy.
