PK and I have a little competition going for biggest cabezon of the year, regardless of catch method.  It's nice to have something that distracts me from AOTY obsessions for part of the time!  Saw some whales as I drove along the Lost Coast.  The conditions were prime for a big ab gut eater, but I only managed a greenling and a grassy - dinner for tonight along with some ling and ab from the freezer.  Found some abs up under the rocks as I made my way out to the fishing zone during a -1' tide.  The therapy session was good.   :smt001

Great pics, Eric!  I'll be shore rockfishing here soon too.  Also want to do some poke-poling.  -Matt

nice outing and thx for the pics.  felt like being there (well not really, but at least we get the visual).  It's uplifting to think there are such pristine areas still around.

Thanks for the solace, Pat - that's inversely proportional to how I felt when you caught that 22.5"er the other day!  (JK   :smt003)

Thanks for the report and photos, Eric.

I went rockin' on Sunday by Gualala - not a bite. We saw a lot of Abalone shells on the beach/rocks - a couple that were fairly fresh from getting tossed in the last storm I guess. The gulls had been pecking at them. I was great to be out at the salt.
