1. to fish more than I did in 2007. That will put me at a minimum of 20 trips in 2008, but I think I can make it.
2. I'd like to bring in another halibut (but I guess I need to start early considering how much competition there will be)
3. To make it to Elk for another shot at a lingzilla and the pot luck food table.
4. To fish with the NCKA friends I made in 2007, and make more in 2008.

I'll stop there so as to maximize my chances of actually meeting these goals  :smt003

4. shock the bass fishing world and leave 2008 remembered as the year of the spider.

See if James can pull in a bluegill before the water gets too cold next year.
Maggie has expressed some interest in SCUBA - see if I can get her to pursue that.
Make it to the Elk and Half Moon Bay tournaments.
Get back to Kodiak, and catch Halibut and Salmon from the kayak in addition to lings and rockfish
Improve my physical conditioning to the point that I have an effective bottom time at depths of 35-40 feet.

1) spend as much time in the water as I do on the 'net!
2) catch a sturgeon!
3) strike a better balance of freshwater and saltwater fishing (I didn't do enough FW in 07)
4) help organize another Shelter Cove salmon trip
5) attend BAM and Elk
6) introduce more people to the sport and do my best to represent!
7) get my scale certified so I can make up for some of those "shoulda-woulda-coulda-been-records" from 2006+2007

Thats not too much to ask, is it? Heck, I'll be stoked if I go 5 for 7!

Good luck in 2008 everybody!

1. Branch out into saltwater kayak fishing
2. Catch a halibut
3. Go on the next Islander trip
4. Attend Elk
5. Do at least 6 camping and fishing trips

Maybe we need an NCKA mentor program, where NCKA old timers and pros agree to mentor a kayak noob for a year to help them achieve their kayak fishing goals!  Anybody want to be my mentor?  :smt044  :smt003
