I know Coyote Bait and Tackle (http://www.coyotebait.com/) stocks minnows.

The last two times I have purchased minnows they have come from Coyote Bait & Tackle and I have been VERY PLEASED!  I buy them the night before I go fishing and have never lost any.  Granted I fill a regular sized icechest half full of water and keep them in that over night but I don't use an aerator.  Straight icechest and water.  In fact, one of those times I bought a dozen & a half for BAMIII and didn't lose a single one

On the topic of minnow traps, are there any that come recommended?  Can you find them anywhere or should I just google minnow trap?  Thanks for any and all help!

Michael

Fishing Jay,

I have been using fluorocarbon line while trolling for trout and have missed a lot of hits where the hook didn’t set.  Today I used a Rubber Snubber and 3” of mono and I hooked two out of three.  You might try the Snubber.

Thanks for the tip!
I was using mono line, but I've never used a snubber before. What does the snubber do?

A snubber is a basically a small rubber tube that softens the impact of a strike. It keeps the hook from ripping out of soft mouthed fish. We use them on kokanee.

A Snubber is a piece of rubber tubing with an eye on one end and a snap on the other.  You place it between your line and leader.  It acts like a shock absorber when the fish hits and provides some stretch when you are fighting it.    The come in different sizes, but I use one that is about 6”.  This link shows an example, but I got mine at Wally World.

http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0003422111782a&type=product&cmCat=Search_Results_NYR&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&QueryText=snubber&N=4887&Ntk=Products&Ntx=mode+matchall&Nty=1&Ntt=snubber&noImage=0

And that was supposed to be three FEETof leader, not 3 inches.

Thanks again for the tips! I'll have to pick up a couple snubbers.
