Magellan Explorist 100 - $40.  http://www.rei.com/product/716262

I'm not too happy with my Explorist 500 (USB doesn't connect to PC, software sux, doesn't look H2O-proof), but this seems like a good price for a basic GPS that should get you home.

I received an eXplorist 210 from my company for my 30th year of survival on the job. Haven't had a chance to try it out yet. Fits in the palm of the hand.

That's a hot deal!  I just replaced mine- I sat on it and broke the screen- and it cost me $100.  You can use it to avoid the MPA's, but you need to imput some more waypoints so you can see where the line is - but one with some kind of decent map or some way to draw lines on the screen would be better, but probably way more expensive.
If you get the 100, print out the on-line manual that's referenced in the short one they pack- it will explain things a lot better. They're waterproof, but I had to have one replaced because it got water inside -now I keep it in a dry bag, and on my vest so I don't sit on it again!

scored it last night at the reduced price.  sounds like a bargain, even if it is a POS.

Been playing with it since I got it.  Loved it for the price! :smt003

This morning, my lab pup thought it might taste good so he snatched it off the kitchen table and chewed the hell out of it.

Oh well, easy come easy go. :smt012

Walmart is supposed to lower the price of any remaining eXplorist 100s to $19 next week. At least, thats what I was told by a dude who works at Walmart (and everybody who works there is automatically a genius). So...might be worth a trip to your local Walmart....on second thought...

I haven't seen any deals that cheap but I got some pre-black friday deals that are looking pretty good. I will be traveling but I should be able to post them.
