Is there any fishing close enough to San Jose that a friend and I could spend about 3 hours on the water on Sunday before preparing for a conference?
I’m not sure if the Kayaks will be involved or not…

Thanks

Jim

What do you want to fish for?

Bass = Lexington, Anderson, Calero

Halibut and Stripers - Oyster Point

Trout/Bass/odd striper - Del Valle

Lexington is the closest

Also consider campbell perc ponds located in (you guessed it) campbell.  Don't think they've gotten their first trout plants just yet.

JFish I said you could fish for them, not catch them  :smt003

Plus if he is going out on a kayak, not the same as pier fishing. Reports of Hali caught at OP last weekend on Coastside.

I live in San Jose so if you let me know what hotel you are staying in I can give you some better recommendations.

I think Lexington is a better bet....I hear people still catch some bass even when the water is low....

Good luck!

were staying at the Hilton downtown?? at 300 Almaden Boulevard.  Chryss' work is paying for the swank diggs so we'll set up their booth at some meeting thingy...
I hope to have time to fish on Sunday, just don't know when, so closer to the hotel is better...

Thanks guys :)

Perc ponds for trout about 10 mins away, no kayak necessary.
Lexington about 20-30 min, I wouldn't go there to shore fish.
Uvas, Chesbro and Calero are gonna be 30-40 +mins because of the country roads into the hills
Parkway,Anderson, 20-30 mins. Parkway is a pay to play fishery...its like the T-Ball of fishing, they stock the crap outta the lake and you dunk powerbait.

I don't know lexington too well but anderson was putting out for my old man a couple weeks ago.  You might wanna call coyote bait and tackle and they will give you the lowdown, they're pretty dialed in.
..........agarcia is just an ex-kayaker
