Took my yak out for the first time today. Scallen and I launched right next to the wharf. We fished the kelp beds for a bit then moved out to deeper water. We were trying for halibut but had no luck there. We ended the day with only two small rock fish. The weather was overcast, very little wind and small surf. My first surf launch and landing was a success. Beautiful morning to be out on the water.

Way to go FF, that is the best thing about kayak fishing, even if you don't catch any fish it is still a great time.

tons of bait....but I was too lazy, didn't want to mess with the sabikis.

In deference to the WAF rquest, it was a quick go-out , hit the beach by 10am.

Bill, you are quaoting me from yesterday.

Deva did a great  1st surf launch and a v. decent  1st surf landing.  I was really hoping he would not roll since I did not bring my camera.

Don't worry Allen. You'll get your chance to take pictures of me wearing a seaweed salad on my head soon enough :headbang:
