Great trip to BH. Even better meeting everyone. Got to work on my landing in the surf. Thanks Mooch and Eric. Hope to do it  again soon.

LMAO - How did we both manage to get pictures in the same kayak on the same day 100 miles apart?

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

Nasty looking surf. Glad your landings were OK.

Joel

That's the smallest YT I have ever seen. Looks lime tuna bait to me.

I thought it was a fun day on the ocean!  It's awesome to fish new spots, but especially this trip because of all of the tales I have heard about the sharks, surf, wind and fog at Bean Hollow.  It's always fun to visit and fish with my "bro-in-law" Sean. The fishing always seems to be good in the Santa Cruz area if the weather cooperates.  It was great to meet and fish with Eric, Kimo, Barry (in the folding kayak), and Mooch (Thanks for the beer cooler, I'm testing it out now and it seems to work pretty good, but I think it needs additional testing later.).  You can't beat good weather, fishing and company, all at the same time!

Hope to fish with you again.
Jim

Nice meeting you too Jim, and Kimo.  I wish I could have stayed and watched the waves too, but I had to get my bro and nieces back to the east bay.

We definitely need to plan a BBQ there one of these days, though.  It's a beautiful spot when the weather's nice like that.  If only there was a place to camp, or sleep in the truck overnight...

I'm wondering how everyone did Sunday?

I didn't know that Yellowtail got this far north. Is there a minimum size?

I caught 2 RF and gifted one to Kimo (who drove all the way from SAC - it was nice talking story with you bradah). The RF fishing was sloooow - by Bean Hollow standards - but the weather conditons were epic.

At the end of the day, I caught this rouge yellow tail with a wacky style senko barbless drop shot rig with a weed guard....coz that's just how I roll  :smt002

I apologize, that post was meant to be a joke  :smt002 That pic was actually taken earlier in the year on a mothership trip with the Islander in San Deigo. The ship took us to San Clemente Island for a day of kayak fishing.

I posted the pic to even things up with Dangling  :smt003 ....for constantly posting his favorite picture of the Salmon he caught at Moutcha Bay, Vancouver Island...... :smt005

Joel -

If that's the best you can do fishing SCI, I may have to break my personal rule and start some smack talk for the 11/07 Islander trip.

Looks like the joke is on all of us. Somebody caught a yellowtail today and photographed it in front of Bayside Marine!
