O'Neill Boost drysuit has a breathable nylon shell is rear entry and is marketed towards wakeboarders and waterskiers. I don't see any discussion of this garment on the NCKA boards. Is it not breathable enough? It is nice looking, well priced and, O'Neill has a good reputation as far as I know. I am aware of Kokatat and Solquist but could pick up a new O'Neill at half the cost of a used Kokatat. What do you think?

Amos - O'Neill Boost drysuit is designed for being in the water, where as we do SOT kayak fishing and want to stay warm and dry.  I am happy with my FJ 3 mil. The relief zipper is must have for those long days in the water.  I have owned both Stohlquist and NRS brands.  I personally prefer Stohlquist because its weights less and is a softer material.  To me NRS is heavier and has extra padding I don't need.  I am not sitting on rocks in fast moving rivers.
Through the years I've added a Kokatat Angler drysuit, Kokatat Tempest Pants to my collection.
But the 3 mil FJ has served me well for years.

If you are looking for a well priced jacket I can recommend this: http://www.austinkayak.com/products/1481/Stohlquist-Splashdown-ST-Spray-Top.html

Before I scored a deal on the Kokatat drysuit, I was seriously considering a wakeboard drysuit...like the O'Neill Boost.

When I was considering dry suit vs. wetsuit for yak fishing, I thought about how bummed I would be if I accidentally put a hook through the suit. I opted for the wetsuit because  a hole would not bum me out as bad. I looked at the tag on dry suits and it made me cringe when I thought about having a hole in the dry suit.

Sin Coast- I thought I was on to something, drysuit was a new XXL on ebay for $200. I let it go, it was a big ticket item on my budget and I wasn't sure it would work well.   :smt010 NowI am of the opinion it would work; Next time.  :smt001

FishingAddict- Thanks for the link to the jacket, I will buy one.

If you can find one for cheap, I say go for it. I've worn similar drysuits for wakeboarding and they seem like they'd hold up to the rigors of kayak fishing. Plus, you'll look way cooler LOL than the Star Trek crew.  I felt comfortable--and I usually bail pretty hard. I definitely wouldn't wear my Kokatat drysuit to go wakeboarding.
