Saw about a dozen guys out at the fort on the way up. Wow more yaks than pb's! Conditions were good with overcast sky, no wind or chop, and swell not bad. Also drift was slow. Both the sonoma county sherrif's boat and a park ranger/lifeguard on a jetski stopped to glance at my stringer. These were the only two times I've been checked on all year including shorefishing and ab diving. I guess after that big ab poaching ring bust, in this morning's newspaper, a show of force was the call for the day. Hey, I don't mind showing my stringer, as long as I've got something skewered on there.                Jim/redyak

Nice mixed bag! I need to hit the salt soon. I've got the freshwater blues!

It was FAC all weekend again because I was at the coast without my kayak.

Tote+kayak+coast=big wind
Tote-kayak+coast=FAC conditions

Seems to be more true than not.
Congrats on the nice fish.
I saw no less than 15 boats just south of Ft Ross this weekend. I am not sure why they were all in the same location except that maybe it is the first decent kelp bed as you head north from Bodega.

Hey! I like that floatation deal you've got on your net there! Good idea! I just might have to copy that one.
Thanks for the report and pics!
