Thank you, Chet! Bagging a chinook from a kayak is the stuff my dreams are made of but it's the "little tippy" part that concerns me, as a novice. Once I've learned to operate the Camry, I'm sure I'll be eyeing the Porsche in a trade-in!

I don't find the revo 13 to be tippy at all. Some would argue that "unstable" kayaks are advantageous in rough water since you have more control over the kayak. Moo explains here:

revo has low primary stability and excellent secondary stability. i agree i have actually stood in mine before, but don't make a habit out of it.

I have a Passport 12 and would have gotten the rotomolded if it was available then. The boat has been really great so far despite known shortcomings in the rudder design. The softer plastic does require some care, and epoxy skid plates have been easy, cheap, and effective for that. It’s stable and fast enough for me I as routinely cover almost 10 miles in an outing with the no frills GT drive. Rides high and dry, lots of room. It’s a great hull shape, and the gray epoxy creates an impressionistic orca pattern with the white hull, at least in my imagination, to frighten the skin piss out of sharks.

It uses a single plastic/composite steering rod in lieu of rudder lines (was this changed in the -R version?). It is subject to quite a bit of play/slop and doesn't track straight unless your hand is on the rudder control. I upgraded mine to the XL rudder which came out this year and it seems to be slightly better, but not great.

It's still the same push pole steering and can't believe it's still a manually rudder deploy system.

I was excited about it for a bit. I think the Old Town Salty will be a better fit for the wife.
