white/chartreuse tail...4"  smallish profile.

1-3oz for me--depending on depth. 10-15feet 1oz is usual

I'm not at all an expert but a few weeks ago I did really well casting a big hammer swimbait in the pacific chovy pattern. I just had it in my box and wasn't doing too well trolling. When I started drifting and casting that thing I was getting them on almost every drift. Good luck!

Am I crazy for thinking swimbaits with a light weight rod would be a hoot for halibut? Thinking my Sherman Island striper casting rod setup. Haven't caught anything bigger than a couple pounds on that rod, would be feisty, haha.

It is a total hoot.

I use a light weight fast action casting rod for the shallow depths, mostly because I learned swimbaiting for Hallie from Wizard, and that's what he's using, and partly because it is easier to feel the bottom contact

Inside the bay, anything with a white belly and dark back seems to work, but the most success I've had was on white gulp curly tail.
