I've bought this for probably less than 3 months. Used it 6 times or less for RF. Its always rinse, since its new, I don't put lube on it yet. After Saturday fishing, the fish where feisty, I caught a decent ling probably around 32", fought well, Noticed my reel start to have squeaking noise. Is this common? Does anyone have experience or input on how to solve this?

I have two. Both going on their 2nd season and work fine.  I rinse them off as soon as I’m back at my truck and loading up (I have a 5-gal tube on my truck to rinse all my gear and shower).

A little reel oil should fix it.

This guy is a reel (real) guru. He makes great YouTube videos on how to service reels. Here’s the one on the Lexa. Btw, the fact he has a video on it means it’s a great reel. I have two. And my spinning are also Daiwa BG. Spray good with fresh water right after returning from ocean.

Luck favors the prepared

I suspect the quality of the assembly may have declined a bit on more recent models. I bought one recently, and the metal lining in the line guide came unglued after 5 times of normal use. I re-glued and it and no big deal, but was a bit disappointed in the quality of the assembly.

Darius, let us know if breaking down the reel and cleaning it helps.

I think we bought from the same sale a few months ago at American Legacy Fishing. They often have closeout deals on reels before the new design comes out—and I wonder about those batches of reela that they get...if they’re the same quality. Because twice now the reel I got from ALF during a super-sale was not the same quality as the exact same reel purchased from a different seller earlier. First time was an Abu Revo Toro and second time is this Lexa 300-WN. The Lexa from ALF was not pre-greased (while the one I bought from somewhere else 6 months prior was definitely QA checked). Easy fix but I didn’t notice til the second trip when the levelwind started clunking. Break it down and make sure its lubed. And pack some grease into those bearings on the front of the levelwind—that made the noise go away for me.

I have a blue lexa that is almost a year old, and it's a top, I love it.

but Darius, the WN I have just started to do the same thing, after yesterday I had a good fish on and it started being harder to reel and made a bad noise.  gotta take it apart and I'll get back to you.

Thanks, the only thing I noticed when I opened mine its pretty dry. No grease whatsoever. Put some grease hopefully that will resolve it.

I already hit up Darius, but mine was actually really dirty inside from mud I forgot about on a camping trip.
