on the water 7AM, off the water 9:45AM. misty, foggy, no wind, 5-6ft swells.

my largest verms ever, 2 x 20.5" @ 6lb each  :smt109

assorted limits of blacks, browns. lost a starry and a brown, last ones caught, during landing, result of being too lazy to put them on the stringer. how?

long story short, landing was a breez but right foot got tangled with paddle leash upon jumping out of the yak to drag it up after bow hit sand, left foot in the surf on the left side, gave the breakers the perfect position to wipe me face down and roll me a couple times while the up-side-down yak banging on me and trying to get rid of all gear.

nothing was lost, just a brand new water bottle and 2 fish.

yeah, leash all but keep them away from entry/exit points  :smt013

but hey, 2 verms and a good day :smt003.

Good to lash gears. I too had lost many things (nets, tackles, stringers etc.) until everything is tied during launch and landing.

Make sure your paddle is not attached to anything when entering and exiting the surf. Also make sure nothing is hanging loose to tangle yourself if you do dump.
The last thing anyone needs is a loose rope or paddle leash attached to a kayak wrapping itself around their neck while they are getting tossed in the surf.
Glad you made it out Ok. Nice stringer too.

Nice Vermillions - I love that spot.  Thanks for the report and pics.  The meat-cleaver pic is cool.

i though they were browns but yeah those must be olives judging by the color and kinda elongated jaws.

yeah, that place puts out consistent quality fish. easy launch and landing and not much to paddle. just that a bit of a long drive. but i've paddled just as long and still had disappointing days at other spots so i think it's not too bad.
