Yup, nice gear doesn’t equate to being prepared for immersion. Just because we stress safety does not mean we don’t like having fun or are a holes, I just don’t want the rona, or have to stop fishing to save some a hole wearing sweats in the ocean.

I could relate to the dude puking.  I was laughing because he filmed it, 1st set the sounds, 2nd set the live feed...he's kinda funny...

To be honest that doesn't really look like a California halibut. Looks more like a sand dab.

If that's a dab, it's a big one.  As far as I know, it's kinda shallow for dabs at the part of TC they were fishing.

Just came back. Was a fun event.

Ran into a couple NCKA old timers as well.

Lol. Except for the people who wanted to kick Dylan’s ass. One dude said he would kill him.
.  I hear there are prizes and maybe a kayak raffle.   Lol

Two kayakers overboard. One kayak sank because it had holes from a boondocks landing gear mount that was removed! Check out about 23 min in the video to see water pouring out of the holes. Also, from the crew on the beach nobody seemed to have a bilge pump. Definitely some lessons to be learned about what not to do from the video. Hope they have a safer outing if they make it out this year.

What a shitshow... good thing there were other people around, those dudes were clueless.  I don't even know how they managed to get into so much trouble in the calmest conditions the ocean can offer.

Launching with holes in the boat?
Unable to re-enter, then barely able to stay in the kayak, even with 4 people helping...

Buying a $4000 boat shouldn't come before learning the basics.
.  I like the cool stickers, go pros, waders, undersized fish oh who could forget the great Puke fest.   A wise man said once “I got into kayak fishing to get away from assholes”

Just my cents here. There are lots of good people there. They just organized a food drive during this event. We cant judge the entire group based solely because theres a bad one. In every group, we cant expect everyone To behave nicely, its like buying basket of apples you get a bad one doesnt mean you discard the whole baskets. It is an individual duty to properly identify their catch, I took newbie with he caught as nice flat. Even though I can tell its sole based on patterns and mouth, I still went and pull out my phone to double check. The reason is, I took him with me and I partially responsible to identify fish that he wasnt sure. Again, lets not easily judge groups because of a bad apple. Im sure NCKA can relate that we are not a perfect group. Lets give everyone the benefit of the doubt. Thanks
