Taking a buddy out on Saturday Morning (8/15) 0700-1200 and launching out of Monterey Coast Guard.

Wanted to know if any one else is planning on fishing so I can check in on the radio.

Last night working on the boat - No squid boats, tide was a little red near Del Monte Beach. Dolphins and birds were going haywire next to East Mooring Boat Area @ 8PM. Saw a ton of anchovies when I put my fish light in.

No rod out last night but I heard guys hooting and fighting fish on the Pier.

Hey Super,

Conditions are looking almost optimal. Low wind till Noon. Warm at 78 by noon. I saw crazy anchovies so rocking the extra small sabiki to go the live bait route with a box of squid on board as back up.

I want to try trolling a lucky craft for Hali but too much kelp near Del Monte beach and its been eating my rigs =(.

I'll be on 69 and start around 6 ish while my buddy drives in.

See you on the water.

I’m fishing tomorrow and was considering butts/wsb in Monterey (after Yakal’s wsb report got me all excited) but I’m probably going to Carmel/PB instead due to the red tide & junk in the water near Monterey. Good luck either way...it’s gonna be hot! (Hot* by monterey standards haha)

With almost all of California under an intense heat wave, I expect the water will be a very busy location.  Good luck out there and stay safe while catching limits

Talked to a guy at West Marine and his buddy said Hali today in 80 FT in front of tides (sounds near the WSB Spot Sat) so I'll be headed back out that way.

Who knows maybe lightning strikes twice. On the Yak tomorrow so a little scared anything bigger than Hali.

I'm in neon Green T or Orange Jacket. See you all out there.

I was in a green neon jacket too. Fish wise, I was going for halibut but instead found a lingcod and a couple ocean white fish. One boat w a couple divers had a massive hali. All in all a good calm day.

I saw the red boat come up with the hali. It was a monster. Boloed Hali and scored whitefish and rockfish like you. I went back out during the week and scored 3x hail in the 34/34/28" I lost 2 in the 36" range due to failed net jobs. Wife won't let me fish again until I clear the fridge this weekend.
