Fishing January-May

You are a sand dab... Go sand dab fishing! No limit, open all year. We will drop a couple of traps then catch some dabs, go back and pull the traps. I love those flatfish, they freeze fine also. We usually start getting them around 100-120 FOW. Good luck!

Yeah, actually I usually start getting into them good around 120. if you are not catching them move to another spot. Always in sand, be sure to use a little squid on the hook and you will get them. I cut sand dab rigs into 4 hook sections, then re-tie the rig. Some of those rigs have 12 hooks...way too many hooks to deal with on a yak. It is a lot of winding up from 120 FOW for a small fish but it's worth it once they are on the dinner plate. Good winter fun...
