Update: Surf Zone Class?

We teach Surf Zone classes here at MBK in Monterey. I myself am a surf zone instructor and am willing to teach a class for NCKA for free. If we can get enough people interested let me know and I will set it up. This time of year I teach a lot of surf zone classes with the bigger swells coming through. I can provide kayaks as well but not pdl drives. Will also supply the helmets and such

Adam, that would be great if you can teach a class. Twelve people participated in the poll so far. 8 of them preferred taking the class south at HMB, so Monterey would most likely have some interest. I think you should go ahead and schedule a class. How many participants can you take?

I have four interested in a North Coast class so I will try and schedule one at Doran, or Bolinas. Unfortunately it will not be free unless someone else steps forward.

I would sign up for the north coast class and happily pay for it since I live up here. Let me know when that might occur!

I would be interested in a North Coast class as well. I would gladly pay for a surf course. Saturdays or Sundays work for me depending on the date.  I work shifts so attendance would depend on the date.

The flyer is below. Call to reserve your spot. Bring your own kayak or rent one from us. We will provide all the gear necessary. Must be ready to get cold (We will provide a wetsuit). This class is not for people with any pre existing  medical conditions as cold water and hard paddling can exacerbate those conditions. We have a 250# weight limit for our kayak rentals. It is best to bring the kayak you paddle most of the time. Email me if you have any questions

Hey Mark,

I've taken a pretty big break over the summer but trying to get back into things.  I did get to go to Doran's for crabbing week after the opener.  I walked away with enough for a meal but a lot of empty pulls.  I'll probably try again soon.
