I would want to target salmon there.  I hear there are big ones around.

I live up Sunset Dr, above Anchor Bay Campground. Just moved here full time in April. Been back and forth to Sacto a lot, but that should be slowing down. Now, if the dang wind would just back off while I have some free time...

I’ll PM my phone number.

I fish the Sonoma Coast frequently, and would love to try fishing with you. I’m a pretty independent fishing partner, I just enough contact to stay safe and relieve boredom. 707-867_6633

Terrific day up here yesterday.  The ocean was quiet with no wind and moderate swells.  The fog was not thick enough to be an issue. There was me, Mike from Windsor and a friend who lives up here at Sea Ranch.  I got a 30" ling with Mike's kind assistance.  I didn't have a net and he put his to work.  My friend got two lings and Mike got a nice collection of rockfish. I caught a 23" vermillion which was the biggest one any of us had ever seen.  A perfect day with great company.

Thanks for the report and congrats on the nice Verm & Ling.  FYI, regulation required us to carry a net when kayak fishing on ocean.

Thanks, Sailfish.  All these many years of fishing from my kayak and I was not aware of the net requirement.  It took a while for me to find the regulation but there it is.  I'll get one.  The article I read which gave the regulation number pointed out that having one in another boat in the area isn't good enough. By the way, I  installed a deck plate in my old Scupper about fifteen years ago which enables me to just put the fish directly into the hull and out of the way.  That said, the opening is not big enough for a large vermillion, ling or flat fish but for most bottom fish it works great. Thanks again for pointing this out.
