Wow! Sounds like you guys are getting a lot of action down there while I'm in Reno working. Also the fire in South Lake Tahoe is not helping my allergies. The smoke is comming over Mt. Rose and settling in Reno. I'm suffocating! Can't wait to get back to the Ocean and I hope theirs still lots of Butt action going on :smut003 Keep the report comming...Thankx

Way to go Allen  getting the beach Butt....

Unless your throwing around rocks, I wouldn't even bother rigging it weedless. I figure if your on a beach, it should be pretty snag free. Also, if your baits are getting shredded easily, try the 3X super plastics. They are 10 times as durable. Makes you wonder how good it is just past the breakers with a yak eh?

yeah, thanks for the tip.  We rigged weedless to try and avoid picking up all of the floating seaweed in the water.  I also took off my swivel and leader and tied direct line for the same reason.

I think the weedless rig resulted in my not hooking on some of the hits.  i finally poked the hook tip through.  don't know if that really made a difference on the hookup, but I got a hookuyp after doing that.

And, yes, I would have preferred being on my boat, but this is a pretty cool way to fish, jusst walking onto the beach, then walking home only have to carry my rod and a big fish.  I will be hitting the area via yak real soon, Sunday perhaps.

(or maybe Friday)

gotta fix my racks 1st   (no dig there Frank  LOL)
