I could imagine getting towed one way and I say "o yeah, check this out" and launch my sail and stop him/her in their tracks...just dreamin'...sturgeon are beastly...

I purchased my AI in 2012. I never registered it until this year because I don't sail. I paid $560 for my registration. I was hit with late penalties for year 2012 to 2018 because I told DMV the truth about when I purchased the kayak. They do not care if you've never used the kayak for sailing in the past. You pay for the reg since the day it was purchased. DMV does not care and makes no attempt to understand the situation. 

Whoever said honesty is the best policy never dealt with the CA DMV.

When I registered my kayak trailer, they charged me sales tax, since I'd bought it online as a kit, and did not pay sales tax at the time. I found that pretty annoying. They also wanted to tax me for the cost of assembling it, based on the time I'd spent putting it together. When I figured out why they were asking such stupid questions,  I insisted that it cost me nothing to assemble, and that I had donated all of my time. That saved a few dollars...

That looks hella unsafe. And it only works if the wind is blowing the direction you want to go. I don't know know man, it looks like more trouble than it's worth. Please be real careful with that thing.

Supposedly could use a crosswind to beat back towards a destination.  The kayak feels quite solid when the wind picks up.  I'll be careful and as skilled as I can get with it...I'm glad my kayak is well keeled"ish" for this option.

How did you pick this style of sail compared to traditional style like the hobies? I saw “falcon sails” on YouTube and it has same style as the hobies which you can sail upwind..
