I have a friend that rescues phones off the bottom of the American River.  His advice: zip log bags are worthless. But he has found phones, bone dry after 2 years.. with this kind of bag: JOTO Universal Waterproof Case, Cellphone Dry Bag Pouch for iPhone X, 8/7/7 Plus/6S/6/6S Plus, Samsung Galaxy S9/S9 Plus/S8/S8 Plus/Note 8 6 5 4, Google Pixel 2 HTC LG Sony Moto up to 6.0"
Available on Amazon for $6 (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GQDZN69/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U__BNi5BbQH4Z21)
Huh. Is he returning the phones, or just profiting off other people’s misfortune?

Seems to me that he's doing a service by collecting phones that would otherwise pollute the water...
Please don't spoil my day, I'm miles away...

I always got tons of complaints from people saying I sounded really muffled with the Lifeproof case. Wife was NOT a fan of that...

I'd always assumed that any truly waterproof case is going to wreak havoc with the mic, so I text when on the water.

He returns the phones Alex.  He posts the pictures (if he can access) to FB and has a very high success rate getting them back. People are generally ecstatic to get their phones back.. unless of course they are soaked.  Some people have even contacted him after dropping their phones, and he will ask approximately where and will go look for them.

I had assumed the same thing too, but a lot of Catalyst reviews were from folks who switched from Lifeproof and claimed much better sound quality.

Another interesting bit is that the Catalyst use manual says that bad sound quality is often a result of a pressure differential between the atmosphere and the inside of the case. They suggest opening the charging port for a second to equalize.

Interesting I’ve been using the lifeproof since they came out (iPhone4) but might have to check it out.

Anyways, now I have iPhone 7 & still use lifeproof. I work in the mud & you can wash your phone, so really great.
OTW I have little floaty (camera float https://www.amazon.com/Nordic-Flash-Waterproof-Camera-Float/dp/B00GUZEZL4/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1542205608&sr=8-2-spons&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=phone+float&psc=1) that I attached to my case. It works pretty good on my phone but of course you should test it.
Good luck!

I've used this MOKO for a while:
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FGOM6SE/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
but as with all these style cases, in my experience, the "touch screen" window is unreliable, which means sometimes needing to take the phone out of the case OTW. With the MOKO, the slightest bit of moisture from my hands would eventually fog up the window, which made the touch screen even less reliable, so I keep a dry towel in my box to try to mitigate that as much as possible.

Recently I picked up this RockBros phone bag:
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B079M4TLNT/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
which I like because it it also has a zipper pouch for keys and other valuables. I haven't found the best way/place to rig it yet, but so far, the touch window seems more responsive than the MOKO. The zipper is a little problematic in the salt, so I mist it with a vinegar solution after every outing. So far so good.

Another thing I added a few years back was this shower speaker:
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CDE39DA/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It's discontinued now, but there are lots out there just like it. With this, I can stash my phone out of the way, still take calls, listen to music, skips songs, change volume etc. I gooped the suction cup to my rod pod and I just slide it into place when I get OTW.
