Ever drop a "caught" fish off your gaff at the boat........Grrrrrrrrr
I still remember my first kayak halibut going apeshit on my yak and busting off my trap rig on the yak handle after flipping off the gaff.
All the Kage spear and harpoon posts made me want to share this. I used a thrift store carbon golf club shaft or ski pole, a re-formed speargun shaft and a stainless steel eyebolt.
I threaded the end of the gaff hook then used JB weld to secure the eyebolt and the gaff hook into the fitted shaft. I can tether the gaff to the yak or to floats if you are after Pacific butts or other larger fish.

Nice! I like the point on that.
Are you pondering what I’m pondering?
