Nathan and I set a date for the Cove, and about 6 days out the forecast looked good - the trip was on.  This past Tuesday, July 17th was our day.  We were to meet at the ramp at 6AM, but when I arrived at 545 Nathan was already there - an early start is always preferred, and an early arriver is always appreciated.  :smt003  We got on nice smooth water and went on to have a pretty amazing day with salmon action along with the usual rocks and lings.  Many hours later as we broke the fish down at the cleaning table, we saw that we'd had good fortune indeed - not much pink in there.

Nathan left the Cove quite a few pounds heavier than when he arrived.  :smt001

7/18 - Robert booked me up for his 3rd trip with me, and I had gone 6 for 7 on trips this season landing salmon at the Cove - the one trip that I didn't land one I'd broken one off after almost having it netted.  The odds were in our favor, but the salmon eluded us.  We did have some hot pumpers on, but they didn't stick.  Bob got 2 swift rides behind threshers that lasted a minute or more, but our stringer at the end of a long day was pretty modest with a ling and 3 nice blacks.  Being out in thick fog all day with a rough ocean and a south wind and strong current turned out to be the biggest challenge, but we had our chances and really enjoyed our session.  Thanks, Bob, for supporting my biz - we'll get 'em next time.  :smt001
