Does anyone know any good crawfish spots to set some traps?

I was thinking of trying around cosumnes preserve. But not sure if it is a good place. Anyone else know of any good spots around the delta?

When I was a kid and the salmon were running up to nimbus, my dad would fish for salmon and I’d go catch crawfish. Back then, every rock you flipped over had a hand full of crawfish under it. But now, I rarely see any at the river.

Any help would be appreciated.  I’ll be back stateside in September so I’ll be hitting the water ASAP and trying to plan some trips.
They're still there in American.
Maybe try the back water or slower water?
I saw them when I was shad fishing at Sunrise last month.

Good luck!

Yah there’s still some in the river, but not nearly the same numbers that there used to be. Not sure why but I’d rather not mess with the population in there.

Ice House Reservoir has a good population of crawdads if you set the traps on rocky outcroppings.  I'll set my trap as I come in from an evening fish and check it when I come back in from a morning fish.  Usually enough  for two in the trap for my omelet for breakfast and chill the rest for a salad at dinner.
The clean waters of mountain lakes make for great tasting 'dads.
Hit me up when you get back and I'll take you to a couple 'secret' spots I don't talk about.  Although, by late October they are snowed in and it takes 4 wheel drive even without snow.

I’ll definitely take you up on that offer. I get back the first week of September so anytime you’re free after that I’m game!
